AI Mode for Search is Here!

Google is bringing AI to even the way users search! Itโ€™s rolling out a new AI mode that allows you to search on the web with Googleโ€™s powerhouse Gemini AI. This is a big move by Google to incorporate AI into search experiences.

Gemini 2.5: Updates?

In March, Google had come up with the 2.5 Pro Experimental model, which it called the โ€˜Most intelligent AI model,โ€™ yet. The Deep Think mode will be an โ€œenhanced reasoningโ€ mode thatโ€™s apt for math and coding. This, moreover, will be available to Ultra users. Alongside, Gemini Flash is a cost-efficient and enhanced version, with better reasoning, multimodality, and long context capabilities. Google touts how 05-20 is only second to 2.5 Pro on the LM Arena Leaderboard.

AI Filmmaking, โ€œFlowโ€ in the Spotlight

One of the most surprising announcements at the I/O 2025 was the brand-new AI filmmaking tool, powered by Veo, Imagen, and Gemini. Users can easily create AI-generated video clips in just 8 seconds from text or images. This stands as a great tool for marketers, content creators, and individuals with video editing skills. With its scene-stitching capabilities, itโ€™s also possible to create lengthy videos.

Project Starline is Now Google Beam

Project Starline, a 3D video chat tool, just got its new name, Google Beam. It will be available inside an HP-branded device with a total of 6 cameras and a light field display showing the 3D views or images.

AI Ultra Plan by Google

Googleโ€™s AI Ultra plan is here for users to benefit from its new and advanced AI models, including Gemini, Flow, and NotebookLM. The subscription will cost $250 per month. This also gives users the benefit of accessing Gemini on Chrome and Project Mariner, which allows completion of 10 tasks at once.

Imagen and Veo Getting Advanced

Google is also bringing enhancements to its media offerings, Imagen and Veo. The all-new Imagen 4 outperforms at better text rendering and allows outputs in different formats, including square and landscape, giving creators a ground. ย Google has announced improvements to its two main generative media offerings, Imagen and Veo. The newly announced Imagen 4 allows for better text rendering in images and allows for output in various formats, including square and landscape, to give creators more options in their layouts. Alongside, on the video side is Veo 3, a next-gen video generator that can generate video and sound from easy prompts and deliver remarkable results in the form of professional video clips.

At the same time, Veo 2 is receiving updates that improve functionality, including camera settings and the addition of object removal to streamline edits in a more helpful way.

Google Making AI-Shopping Possible

Google is getting big even in the shopping field. With its new AI-enabled shopping feature, users can upload their full-body length photo and check how the outfit looks. They can try on shirts, pants, dresses, and get a realistic preview. Here, AI is playing a key role in understanding the anatomy of humans and how different kinds of fabric will react with movement, creating a realistic preview for users.

With this, Google teased an agentic checkout that allows Gemini to officially make purchases without you clicking the buy button, which opens possibilities for hands-free shopping and intelligent shopping experiences online.

Googleโ€™s Gemini AI on Chrome? Sounds Amazing

Well, is there anything where Gemini AI isnโ€™t there. Not! Chrome was the only player left to have Gemini within. The exciting news from the announcement is, Gemini AI will now be rolling in Google Chrome for desktop view starting from tomorrow for all the Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the USA.

If you want to summarize web pages or need complex information on any topic, Gemini AI is here for you. On top of this, Gemini will be working across multiple tabs and also navigating websites on your behalf.

Whatโ€™s Next? Google Gemini Live

Googleโ€™s all-new AI-powered voice assistant is now available for free to all Android and iOS users. This was previously a paid option which is now accessible to everyone who wishes to have a talk with an AI assistant using natural language.

Hereโ€™s what it can do:

  • Use your phone camera to display objects, text, or surroundings.
  • Gemini will take the image and extract and evaluate the visual elements and provide useful information.
  • Screen and camera sharing was only applicable to Android, but now, its expanding to iOS users.

Google Meet Coming with Speech Translation

The meeting platform Google Meet is coming up with a new feature that allows translation of your speech into the other person’s language super quickly. Itโ€™s currently supported for English and Spanish languages and is rolling out in beta for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.

Gmail is Getting Personalized!

Sounds different! But yea, Gemini is here to create smart replies for you only if you allow it to do so, with permission. Along with personalized smart replies, users also have access to other features like Inbox Cleanup and Calendar appointment scheduling.

Hereโ€™s an example from Sundar Pichai, CEO at Google, himself, who is responding to his friend who asked for road trip tips from Colorado to Utah.

Pichai states that before he replied, Gemini scanned his Drive notes and Gmail bookings to locate his information for Zion National Park. Then, using variables like drive time and stop duration, matched his writing style, and generated three replies for him. He selected one, modified it, and sent it.

Whatโ€™s Ahead?

Google I/O 2025 has brought strategic changes to Googleโ€™s offerings. This clearly states that Google itself is moving towards an AI-driven strategy to make things easy.

From changing the complete search patterns to drafting personalized emails in Gmail, everything seems exciting, and the future, of course, looks quite promising!
