Google Introduces Veo 3.1 and Advanced Capabilities in Flow for State-of-the-art AI Video Generation

Google has launched its newest AI video generation model, Veo 3.1, on October 12, 2025. It is set to offer extended creative control to the users and designers. Advanced prompt adherence and audiovisual quality are the key upgrades to look for. Google is further integrating audio to Veo’s existing features like ‘Ingredients to Video’ and ‘Frames to Video’.

Alongside Veo 3.1, Google has also unveiled new capabilities for its AI filmmaking tool, Flow. The platform is getting enhanced artistic control and elevated audio support in all features. With these upgrades, Google is clearly trying to compete with OpenAI’s Sora 2.

The upgrades have been made following the thorough analyses of user feedback that Google has received. As the tech giant stated, “We’re always listening to your feedback, and we’ve heard that you want more artistic control within Flow, with increased support for audio across all features.

What’s New in Google Veo 3.1?

Audio Integration and More Control:

Veo 3.1 is introducing audio to its key capabilities, including ‘Ingredients to Video’, which will enable users and designers to control characters, objects, and styles within video.

While enhancing the feature of ‘Frames to Video’, Veo 3.1 is boosting the control of each shot of a video from start to finish.

The latest version will also allow users to create longer videos with the ‘Extend’ feature. Now, designers will be able to create videos that are one minute longer or more.

More Precision:

The combination of Veo 3.1 and Flow will offer a video generation experience with precision like never before. Flow is now able to address complex details in videos, including shadows and lighting. Alongside that, you can add elements aligning with their imagination in any scene or shot through the feature of ‘Insert’.

Alongside that, users can remove unwanted objects and elements easily with Veo 3.1 while Flow takes care of background and surrounding reconstruction.

Notably, the launch of Veo 3.1 will increase Sora 2’s competition. Nevertheless, there are differences in cost and outcomes. Where Sora 2 is more capable of processing complex prompts, Veo 3.1 is gradually improving its ability.
